If a state’s Occupational Health and Safety State Plan meets or exceeds OSHA’s standards, OSHA recognizes and approves the state’s program. Connecticut has its own State Plan that covers all public-sector employers and employees, and it is mandatory for all workers and businesses operating or residing in Connecticut to comply with this plan.
Connecticut has largely adopted the OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards, with its State Plan typically managed by two regulatory agencies. In Connecticut, these standards and regulations apply uniformly to all employers and employees.
While OSHA does not mandate OSHA Training, employees are still required to receive training that complies with specific Safety Standards. Because OSHA courses cover a broad range of topics—some of which fulfill these training requirements—OSHA recommends that workers take OSHA 10 Hour and OSHA 30 Hour courses.
Though OSHA Training itself isn’t compulsory, workers in Connecticut must comply with the Connecticut Construction Safety Law.
Available training includes:
OSHA 10 Hour Safety Training for entry-level workers
OSHA 30 Hour Safety Training for supervisors and workers with leadership roles
