Before the OSHA Act was enacted, there were no effective federal laws to protect workers’ rights and health. Consequently, the establishment of OSHA led to significant improvements in workplace conditions and increased employee awareness of safety.
Since North Dakota has not established an official state plan, employees—including many in the private sector—are governed by federal OSHA regulations.
OSHA offers 10 Hour and 30 Hour online training courses aimed at entry-level workers, supervisors, and managers. These courses cover essential topics to help employees understand job site safety hazards and OSHA compliance, which most employers require for their staff.
