Nevada’s Official State Plan is enforced by the Nevada Occupational Safety and Health Administration (Nevada OSHA), which operates under the Division of Industrial Relations within the Department of Business and Industry.
The Nevada State Plan covers all state, federal, and private sector employees, with a few specific exceptions, including:
Employment in the maritime industry, such as shipyards, marine terminals, and longshoring operations
Mail services conducted by contract employees or within contractor-operated facilities for the United States Postal Service (USPS)
Contractors and subcontractors operating on federally owned properties
Private-sector employment on military bases or installations
Work conducted on Native American reservations
Working conditions of cabin crew members during in-flight operations
Any workplace, hazard, operation, or area where the state is unable to effectively exercise jurisdiction due to reasons beyond the scope or capability of the State Plan
